2022 Season
2022 โ Back to Normality
After two turbulent years in 2020 and 2021, the 2022 Le Tournoi season finally saw a welcome return to normality, with all 11 scheduled events taking place and a full season of competitive golf once again on the calendar.
The Order of Merit provided one of the closest finishes in the Society's history, with what is believed to be the first title decided on countback. Ali Bekar and Adam Chambers finished level on 28 points, bringing into play the Order of Merit tiebreak rule designed to encourage participation. Under this rule, the player who competed in the most qualifying Major events takes precedence. With four Majors played against Adam's three, Ali Bekar claimed the Order of Merit title.
Division One produced another closely fought contest, with Adam Chambers putting his Order of Merit disappointment behind him to claim the Division One league title, finishing ahead of runner-up Chris van Heften.
In Division Two, it was an altogether different story, as Ben Willis romped to the league title in commanding fashion. Having dominated the division in 2022, Ben then seemingly disappeared from the Le Tournoi golfing scene, never to be seen again in 2023 or the seasons that followed!
With a complete calendar, closely contested titles and a memorable Order of Merit countback, 2022 marked a welcome return to the familiar competition and camaraderie of Le Tournoi.
