Another Successful Season, but better together....

2009 was another successful year for Le Tournoi, with the four Majors continuing to provide the competitive highlights of the golfing calendar.

As with previous seasons, we have preserved the complete results from the Le Tournoi Majors, together with the final League standings. Unfortunately, the individual results from the Falcon Society days are no longer available.

Nevertheless, the records we do have provide another valuable chapter in the history of Le Tournoi, preserving the winners, performances and achievements of those who competed throughout the year.

A New Direction for 2010

By the end of 2009, it had become clear that Le Tournoi and the Falcon Society were increasingly competing for the same golfers, with their separate calendars sometimes working against each other.

Rather than allowing that to continue, both societies recognised that a more coordinated approach would benefit everyone and help ensure their continued success.

The decision was made to bring the two calendars together, while preserving the identity and traditions of both societies.

From 2010 onwards, the Le Tournoi organisers would continue to run the four traditional Majors, while the Falcon Society organisers would take responsibility for the remaining society days, providing more affordable golfing opportunities throughout the year.

The result was a single, coordinated calendar, with approximately one event per month. The Majors retained their special place in the season, while the Falcon Society days offered a more cost-effective way for everyone to enjoy regular golf.

It was a practical decision that allowed both societies to continue doing what they did best, while working together for the benefit of all their golfers.

Where Did the Le Tournoi Logo Come From?

For anyone who has ever wondered about the origins of the Le Tournoi logo, the answer lies in the relationship between Le Tournoi and the Falcon Society.

As the two societies came together, their identities were reflected in the design of the logo we still use today.

The Falcon became part of the Le Tournoi identity, representing the coming together of two golfing traditions under one coordinated society.

So the next time you see the Falcon in our logo, you'll know there's a little bit of history behind it.

2009 marked the beginning of a partnership that helped both societies move forward together.
